Inspiring Students Towards the Future of Technology: IEEE Guest Lecture at Bakrie University

Jakarta, April 21, 2025 — In an effort to strengthen students' insight into global technological developments and professionalism in the fields of engineering and information systems, the Information Systems Study Program at Bakrie University in collaboration with the Informatics Study Program and the IEEE Student Branch of Bakrie University held a Guest Lecture activity entitled "Step Into the Future of Tech with IEEE".

This activity took place at the 42nd Floor Auditorium, Bakrie Tower, and was attended by dozens of students who enthusiastically participated in this inspiring session. The event was opened with remarks from Ir. Iwan Adhicandra, Ph.D., SMIEEE, as Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch of Bakrie University and Head of the Informatics Study Program, who emphasized the importance of student involvement in professional communities such as IEEE as a provision to face the challenges of the world of work and the technology industry.

Remarks were also given by Prof. Dr. Hoga Saragih, IPM, MIEEE, as Head of the Information Systems Study Program, who appreciated the synergy between study programs and student initiatives in presenting activities that encourage cross-disciplinary collaboration and student self-development.

The highlight of the event was a Guest Lecture session from Amanda Julia Isa, S.T., MIEEE, Chair of the Student Activities Committee IEEE Indonesia Section, who provided insight into the latest developments in the world of technology, the importance of international certification, and opportunities for contribution to the IEEE community both at the national and global levels. Through this interactive and inspiring session, students gained a deeper understanding of IEEE's role in supporting career development in technology and engineering.

The event was closed with a question and answer session that aroused the enthusiasm of the participants, as well as a group photo session as a symbol of collaboration and togetherness.

This activity marked the commitment of Bakrie University, especially the Information Systems Study Program and Informatics Study Program, in equipping students with global insight and professional networks, as well as encouraging them to become superior talents who are ready to contribute to the advancement of future technology.
